Women are the most vulnerable demographic on every hemisphere of the planet. Women of colour are even more vulnerable and underrepresented than white women. The revolutionary man, Malcolm X once uttered the words, “The most disrespected person in America is the Black woman. The most unprotected person in America is the Black woman. The most neglected person in America is the Black woman.” It has now been decades since that powerful monologue was sounded and the sentiments remain relevant and crucial. Being that I’m a playlist connoisseur, I felt the need to create a playlist solely for those vulnerable and muzzled women across the globe.
This playlist includes a wide array of genres for women with eclectic musical taste. It commences with the groovy anthem by the incomparable Beyoncé, and concludes with a self validating record by Hailee Steinfeld.
